Jenna Ortega Says Everyone In Hollywood Wants To Be 'Politically Correct'

Jenna Ortega talks about the intersection of Hollywood and politics and how the need for actors to be politically correct often contributes to them losing their integrity.

Ortega exited the "Scream" franchise in 2023, a day after her co-star Melissa Barrera was fired over social media posts about Israel and Palestine. However, the "Wednesday" actress cited scheduling conflicts as the reason for her exit.

“The business we work in is very touchy. Everybody wants to be politically correct, but in doing that I think we lose our humanity and integrity because there's no honesty in that,” Ortega told Vanity Fair about Hollywood.

"I want us to have a good conversation," she continued, reports Variety.com.

“If everybody can say what they feel and not be judged for it and if anything, then that's kind of a discussion, not an argument. Am I describing world peace?” she asked herself in a light tone.

Barrera was fired from "Scream 7" due to her posts in support of Palestine amid the ongoing conflict with Israel.
