JLo threw a lavish 'Bridgerton' themed party for her 55th birthday

Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez turned 55 and shared a video on her Instagram showcasing a montage of moments from her 'Bridgerton'-inspired birthday party.

Bridgerton's themed party was held in New York's Hamptons on July 20, but the superstar singer shared the video on Wednesday (Eastern Standard Time). The dramatic video montage is set to orchestral music, People magazine reported.

The video featured a collection of images of JLo throughout the night, as well as videos of guests, attendees and performers dancing as if they were at a 19th-century English ball, similar to Netflix's popular historical romance series. At one point in the video, Lopez can be seen singing into a microphone.

According to People, the video ends with the 'Atlas' star blowing out candles on a cake with sparklers flying behind her. “Dearest Gentle Reader… and a wonderful evening by all,” she captioned her video.

Among the guests at her birthday party was her mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, who was seen arriving at the event with friends in period attire.

JLo's husband Ben Affleck did not attend the party. The couple have been on separate shores for most of this summer and recently celebrated another significant milestone apart - their second wedding anniversary, which took place on July 16.
